September 13, 2006 I got a call from my friend Adam sayin they were either headin to Toxaway or Linville on the 14th. I awaited anxiously for the gauges to update due to the lack of rain from what was expected. We met at the take out for Spence Ridge Trail and began to set shuttle. We put in at the base of Linville falls which is probably the most awesome put in (Kinda like Horsepasture)

The next 3-4 miles were class III with one huge double drop. When we got to Babel there was a group of 3 putting in. All had semi-good lines

After Babel there were a few jank rapids and some big slides. After that it was a blur due to the horizon lines over and over again. We got to S-turn and gave it a scout. I decided to wait till next time. Then we came upon the entrance to Drunk Tank gave it a scout and decided to wait

The next rapid was awesome and it was totally out of control. A few rapids later we were at a rapid called Double undercut which was sick. Like a 6 footer into a boulder that pushed 80% of its water into a cave. Adam decided to go first he looked good so I ended up giving it a go. Couple of rapids later we were at Jailhouse. We got out to look due to a new tree in the river and all gave it a go

A few junk rapids later and we arrived at Cave gorge, this place was awesome. Kirk, Adam, Eli, and I fired up the entrance to Cave. I caught the transit and did a rail grab the whole way down...definetly a good feeling!

The next rapid was a big one followed by another portage(#3 manditory I think). Next was a manditory rapid with huge gorge walls on each side

The next rapid is called Dr. Shuess, a big slide onto a boil that drive right then left into a huge hole

Every one had good lines except me. I got trashed in the bottom hole and ended up swimming for the first time in almost 2 years! Adam and Eli grabbed the boat, keith grabbed the paddle and Kirk ferried me across. Got back on the river with some class III boogie with one medium V and one big V. We took out at the new hiking bridge and began to hike the 1.7 miles up hill. This was defenitely the best day Ive had kayaking. Thanks to Kirk(Bankfull) who showed us down, mad probs, my new favorite river!
