The other day after the big rain I left class met with some Clemson boys and we drove up to Silver Run Falls. I have been wanting this fall for quite a while so this was my first choice after the rain. I remember looking at the falls when I was paddling Nanty and Sec III Chattooga, so I was super excited to see barely enough water to give'er. The only mistake I made was waited a tad to long to take a stroke off the lip. I went to grab one last stroke before tuckin'er in and there was nothing. I went for the tuck and ended up starting to go over the handle bars, I treid to grab one last stroke to correct and SMACK!! Broken boat, whiplash, 30 foot belly buster! photos thanks to Joe S.

So Ive been out of it for a while (B/c of school), so Ill start with the fall. So Dec 12th is my Birthday, we had a pretty big crew of my boys from Clemson show up. From there we gave Mr Billy Murph a ride and he persisted that the Bday eddy must be caught. I met up with Chris at gorilla who was waiting on me haha, nerves were flaring needless to say. But all ended up well.

So couple of weeks later we ended up at overflow with Andy, Chan, Mac, another guy from Va, and myself. The next day we headed to the Horsepasture. This was my 6th time down and super excited to do it with some padding. The level was nice and fluffy most of the way down. The day after I took a break to reheal those blisters from the hike. We had gotten a little bit of rain that night and headed tward the horsepasture again. Luckily we had a level around .20, low but good. Here are some pics from that adventure (if you have face book theres alot more)

After newyears there was about another week until we got some good rain. Called some people and headed tward Upper Santeelah. I ended up lost and had to play catch up on the hike. Run was fun just alot of F U rocks that hurt as the water began to drop.

A week later we headed to the Ravens Fork. 8" hell yea! This place was incredible and gorgeous. The whole run was just drop after drop after drop that got bigger and bigger. My favorite run so far and by a long stretch. ON THAT NOTE DO NOT GO IN THERE UNLESS YOU TALK TO EMANUEL AND YOU GOT THE SKILLZ TO PAY THE BILLZ. The whole reservation thing is very touchy.

Peace,
Jay

I havnt been on here in a while, so Ill post about our cool adventure on July 4, 2007. To start the line up it Was me (Jay), Alston Brown, David Johnson, Andrew Henry, and Justin Thomilson. We left my house around 11 and drove to the Horsepasture to get our slide on. Stayed there for a couple of hours and then drove to Upper Whitewater, from there we met up with a kayaking buddy and proceeded down stream to Box Canyon. We talked for a while of what was needed to be done once we were in the gorge b/c there was no way out but downstream. Started to walk down the huge entry slide and proceeded to the next drop. The first drop is right around 12 feet lands in a pocket with alot of water pushin left into a wall. The 2nd is the scariest b/c about a 12 footer and lands in a pocket/ wall, in which we had to walk on a ledge that was about 6" wide and slippery to jump. The final falls is the 30 foot which we lowered all but one person to a more suitable position to jump, but the last person had to take the whole 30ft (Sketchy)....props Alston. We will be doing it again here in a couple of weeks so Pics will be up!
