This is my first blog so hopefully youll enjoy. My first post is from a while back in April. On April 22, 2006 Adam, David, and I met at the horsepasture very anxious with high hopes of it running. We drove over the bridge to look at the water and rocks. We park in the state park and gear up and start the hike down. We get to turtle and it looked like a good side of low. We put on ran it, then everyone else hiked around Rainbow while me being the only one to fire it up (yeah righttttt).

We had one mishap the whole day, and that honor goes to Adam. In first rapid (ugly) Adam was behind the other member in our group. On the first big drop it makes a whale tail, left pourin off into a fluffy hole and the right going into a cave. David went through the middle, Adam being right behind went right. Lost his hand paddles, popped his skirt and stood up in his boat to climb out. In the video below youll see Adam after the mishap runnin the last part of it.

After that all was fun throught the boogie. Horsepasture has the best boogie with it all bein almost as big as the named drops. The next rapid is the most fun Stairstep Falls. It drops like 60 feet in like 8 drops. Then some more big boogie and we arrived at sidepocket or w/e. This one is kinda dangerous because it has some serious pinning potential at the bottom left (David visits in the vid).

After that is Exit A, fun and big.

Then Exit B, by this time the water was dropping so we opted to portage due to a 15' drop onto slab.

The next rapid was the best 400 yd slide named Highway. The bottom part of the slide is one the video (watch out for the cave on the bottom right which I visited).

Then there are big boogie like a mushroom shaped rock with some tree trunks in it, two 12-15'ers, a small zuicks, then a big zuicks with a sickk sieve at the bottom.

After that we ate a energy bar, drank up water and began the hike. It is one of the best runs out there and so much dedication is involved. Hopefully is will rain and we will be able to get on the other Jocasse runs.
